I need to purchase a sprayer for my Kubota BX2230 and was wondering if others had opinions as to types, pros and cons. I will use this to spray herbicides and insecticides on lawn, garden and shrubs on my 2 acres place. A boom sprayer is not necessary, a hand held would be fine. The question is 3ph model or a pull behind? I assume a pto model is available for both? Thanks for your help. Brian

I just used my FIMCO again this weekend and had worked fine again! I made a hitch hauler to carry it on instead of pulling. I am impressed and it would be less than 200 if you dont need a trailer for it or boom. Good luck ....

Thanks Brokenarrow. I went to their website and saw a couple of possibilities. Dumb question...what's a roller pump? Does that drive off your PTO? I understand the 12v pump concept hooking to your battery. Which do you have and which would you recommend? Brian ....

A roller pump connects directly to the rear pto with a coupler. Several different types of rollers are available depending on what you will be spraying. A six roller pump will put out plenty of gpm at about 180psi, which should be plenty for your sprayer.

I built a spayer with a six roller pump and really like it. I spray fertilizer and herbisides with it throughout the yard. I have mine Mounted on a 4-wheel wagon because it has a 65 gallon tank. I would prefer a 3-point mount for ease of movement. ....

I have a FIMCO model LG-115 unit I bought about a year ago for about $90. This has a 15 gal tank with 12 volt on-demand pump and hand held nozzle. This model was intended for an ATV where it could be simply strapped on which kept the price down. Using about $5 worth of ¾ and 1” square steel tubing (at last year’s prices) I made a rectangular sub frame with a single arm on the front that attaches to the upper 3-point mount. The whole thing is still light enough that I can easily store it out of the way on a top shelf.

One thing I noticed when buying this was that they have two different pressure ranges in some 12 volt sprayers. Mine runs at only some 20 PSI but this is plenty for spot spraying the lawn, shrubs and trees up to about 15 feet. For a bit more money you can get 60 PSI units better suited for taller trees. These 12 volt units have plenty of volume for the kind of spraying you mentioned.

I find the pressure put out by the roller pump is really handy for spraying shrubs abd trees. With the right wand and spraying nozzle, I can spray about 50 feet with good volume without a problem. It depends on what your needs are, like anything else. ....
